Solar pool heater
Getting
the right size solar pool heater system for your particular pool
at your particular geographic location is not necessarily simple.
After all, there are many factors that you must consider when deciding
on the size of your solar pool heater:
· Geographic location – Where you live, especially
in terms of latitude, affects how much sun you get.
· Cover or no cover – If you have a cover on your pool,
it will not require as much heat to keep it warm.
· Shade – If your pool and solar pool heater are shaded
for a large part of the day, you are going to need extra collector
area (the solar collector is where the water is circulated through
to be heated).
· Direction of your roof – if your solar panels are
on your roof, it is best to have a slightly sloped roof facing South.
Such a roof will receive the most sunlight. If you have a flat roof,
etc., you may need a bigger solar pool heater – more solar
panels.
· Average temperatures of your region.
· Wind.
· Pool size.
· The temperature you want to keep your pool at.
· Length of swimming season.
All in all, it is best to get a professional to help you with your
decision. Also, realize that is better to get a solar pool heater
system that is too large, rather than one that is too small.
There are many benefits to using a solar pool heater instead of
a heater powered by gas or something else. For one thing, you can
heat up your pool earlier in the season and keep it heated later
in the season – you will not even need to worry about your
heating bill going up!
